Eco Tours & Pantanal

The reserve of Pantanal contains four protected areas, covering a total of 187.818 hectares. Situated in the southeastern end of the State of Mato Grosso, this natural area includes the headwaters of the rivers Cuiabá and Paraguay. This place represents 1,3% of the brazilian marshland, one of the most extensive fresh water wetland ecosystems in the World. Its vegetation and fauna abundance and diversity are the most spectacular characteristics of this reserve.

Situated mostly in Brazil, it is an immense alluvial plain that covers some parts of Bolivia and Paraguay. It is the biggest wetland in the World, located in the region of the brazilian Mato Grosso with a total extension of 220.000 km². It is possibly the richest ecosystem in flora and fauna biodiversity in the World.

During the rainy season, between december and may, the water level rises up to 3m causing floods in an 80%, thus originating a system with major presence of water flora, which reaches incomparable expression compared with any other place in the World.
